Why This Matters

This isn’t charity—it’s community-powered access to healing.
We are people who are doing everything right but still can’t afford care. Making therapy, psychiatry, and prescriptions reachable for those left behind by a broken system.

WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

How Our Support Works

If you’re working hard, have insurance, and still can’t afford the care you need—you’re exactly who we’re here for. At The Thinkbox Co-Pay Project, we support people who are doing everything right: going to work, keeping up with responsibilities, and still facing a system that makes healing feel out of reach. High co-pays, huge deductibles, and uncovered medication costs shouldn’t stand between you and the care you deserve.

You are not alone—and you are not broken. You’re underinsured. And we’re here to help.

What We Can Help With:

If you're approved, we may be able to assist with:

  • Therapy co-pays (weekly or biweekly sessions)

  • Psychiatry appointments (including diagnosis and medication management)

  • Mental health prescriptions not fully covered by insurance

  • Related costs like:

    • Transportation to appointments

    • Childcare during sessions

    • Phone/data plans for virtual care

    • Other urgent, one-time barriers related to mental health access

We review each situation individually and work with you to understand where support is most needed.

Who This Is For

You may be eligible if:

  • You have insurance (private or employer-provided)

  • You live in Monroe County, Michigan

  • You’re currently employed, in school, or actively managing responsibilities

  • Your out-of-pocket costs are making care unaffordable

  • You’re not receiving other financial help for mental health care

We know this system wasn’t built with everyone in mind. That’s why we’re building a bridge—just for people like you.

What to Expect

  1. Submit the eligibility form (online, simple, and private)

  2. We’ll follow up within 7–10 business days

  3. If approved, we’ll match you with a sponsor or use our general fund to start covering verified costs

  4. You’ll receive updates and check-ins—because we believe support should be personal

All information you share with us is confidential and used only to determine your eligibility and needs.

Want to Help Others Too?

As someone receiving support, you’ll always have the option to share your story—anonymously or openly—to help others feel less alone.

We may invite you to:

  • Share a written quote or experience for social media

  • Be featured (anonymously or named) in a spotlight post

  • Join us on our podcast to talk about your journey and reduce stigma

This is 100% optional, and your support will never depend on sharing. But if you’re open to it, your story could change someone else’s life too.

You're Worth the Help

You don’t need to be in crisis to deserve care.
You don’t need to “prove” your pain to deserve support.
If you're struggling to access mental health care, we see you—and we’re ready to help you move forward.

This isn’t a handout. This is a lift up, built by people who get it.
